Thank You for participating in the CDD Meetings Poll.
Currently CDD meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of every month@ 1:00pm @ Waterstone II Clubhouse. Do you think that moving these meetings to a different time or day would encourage more community participation?

After working hours and taking into consideration that most of us work far from Homestead I think the meetings should be like around 6:30 pm
Most people WORK at this time. An evening is more appropriate
As you know, most of the homeowners work north of Homestead and work between 8am-5pm Maybe a Wednesday 3pm-5pm or Thursday 3pm-5pm
It is my experience that meetings held between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm do not want community participation.
Those are staff and board meeting, not community meeting.
I think it would be better after 6 or 7 PM at night
Most people are working at 1:00 on a weekday. How about an early evening or a weekend morning?
I dont know how many people have the opportunity to assist to the meetings when they are schedule at 1:00 pm. I guess no that many!.
If the meeting were schedule at night, I believe more people will be able to assist.
Definitely, this time is when most people are at work and it is impossible to attend.
Of Course people work and cant make a 1pm meeting especially when most people dont work in the area
8:PM will be a good time. "All residents are invited" sign
Change to evening meetings.
evenings....PLEASE
Yes you should hold them at a time when more people can attend.
I honestly believe that this is a conspiraracy by the CDD Board to schedule such a @$%#@ schedule. Let's be realistic the average working american works between thje hours of 0800 to 1700. PLEASE SHOW ME A DIFFERENT STATISTIC. I will give the CDD The benefit of the doubt by excepting the excuse that you where thinking about a different time zone when you originally came up with the day and time you did. I guarantee that if you change it to later in the evening, Participation will increase, which is something you may not want (COUP de TAT)to happen.
Having these meetings on a weekday afternoon at 1:00 is like setting up "play dates" for our babies at 10:30 p.m. What's the reason for these meetings being held at a time that 95% of us cannot attend? There MUST be a reason. hmmm...
Apparently there are two sides to every story. The edcucated people will listen to both sides before passing judgement. I was at the town hall meeting the other night and I learned that these CDD meetings last 4-5 hours and that it would cost us (the taxpayers) thousands of dollars more in overtime for the attorney and such if they were held at night. I also learned that the board is people who live here just like us. They keep minutes that are word for word. I can see why this board would not want to have night time meetings, because the board (who does not get paid)does not want to walk out of a meeting at 10 or 11 p.m. and spend thousdands more of our tax dollars to do it. I'm glad I did not rush to judgement on them. God bless these people of the CDD board. I sure would't have the patience to volunteer and put up with some people's igmorance.
I feel that moving the meetings to a later time would help with community involvement, but when I heard at the Town Meeting last week that we wouldn't be allowed to speak...
I also agree with the president when he explained that it would cost thousands of extra dollars, then forget it.
Well obviously 1pm on a weekday is when most people are working. I'm am fortunate that I could make these if I made the time outside of work to do so, but most people would have to take the day off of work for these.
Using our tax monies to change the meetings to 6 P.M. is ridiculous. We have a great board in place looking at our best interest. Attending the Town Hall Meeting last month made me aware how many rumors are getting passed around. I personally would rather stay home than sit at a 5 hour long meeting to listen when you can read the minutes taken posted on this site.
We as homeowners are paying more than enought on our taxes and to add more it will destroy more dreams from families and more foreclosure homes in our communities, homestead is growing and it will take 4-5 years to get decent enought for good working people to move down south to homestead. I myself am selling my home under the market just to get out of homestead for good as it was the worst ever decision that I made for my family. Everyone is getting greety and wants to spend and spend with recklessness and no limit in sight, more spending in the middle of a crisis is not the answer with lots of empty homes in every community in waterstone I & II. Don't believe me just walk around in your community don't have to go that far. And 2-1 vote in favor only proves how reckless the CDD is been handled right now by people with no experience and no clue on what their doing. But that's just me a disappointed homeowner with a bad sour taste in my mouth. Hope someone can keep my comments for 5 yrs and we all will realize our big mistake we did to allow not qualified CDD members run our community. Good luck to all!!
Has anyone taken into account that if we move the meetings to evenings, the cost for running these meetings could double? I understand that most people that post on this blog do not want to raise their taxes, but, moving the meetings to eveings will create an additional burden on the CDD as we will have to pay attorneys and others a higher rate. Just a thought.
